Passionate Mood Food

Avoid caffeine in tea, coffee and cola drinks which can reduced libido. The fast pace of modern life leads to stress, tiredness so make sure you eat to relax and boost your energy too.

Foods that promote weight loss also hold libido-boosting potential. Some research shows that reducing weight results in an increase of testosterone, and thus an increase in sexual function.

Pumpkin seeds are thought to be an aphrodisiac, being a good source of zinc which is required for healthy sperm production. Pomegranate is an excellent source of folic acid so great for those planning pregnancy, and essential for the formation of red blood cells and DNA.

For an erection to occur, the nerves in the penis need to make a chemical called Nitric oxide. Nitric acid is the substance in the body that encourages the spongy parts of the penis to fill with blood during an erection. Because the chemical reaction in the body creates Nitric oxide from L-Arginine, supplementing with L-Arginine is believed to help stimulate and maintain erections. So, go for food rich in L-Arginine, such as oats, peanuts, cashews, walnuts, ginseng, soybeans, chickpeas and seeds. Garlic is high in L-Arginine too but for obvious reasons both partners need to have some!

To really get your blood going, consider circulation-enhancing dishes. Foods high in Omega-3 fatty acids are best. Avoid foods with too much saturated fat. Too much saturated fat can, over time, clog arteries and, in doing so, prevent an adequate flow of blood. This not only interferes with the ability to perform, but also with sexual pleasure.
